Originating as BROKECHELLA, this festival began as a modest 400-person alternative to the giant desert festival. After a rebrand in 2016, 2018 marks the 8th edition of BROKE LA, which has steadily grown into a 6,000 person multi-vertical festival. It has become LA's premiere DIY and fully independent discovery destination. From music, comedy, & visual art, to food, makers, and wares, the event attracts thousands of Angelenos annually. The MOON/SHINE founders were also co-founds of this festival from the ground up, running it’s full festival operations, front of house, production, music, comedy and visual art curation, and day-of event logistics.
